Welcome to LIGHT OF THE WORLD<\/b><\/a>, the first movie from The Salvation Poem Project<\/a>\u2014a ministry that crafts stories to share Jesus Christ with the world.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere needs to be a family film, a hand-drawn work of art, that tells the story of Jesus. This film should already exist, and it didn\u2019t,\u201d says Brennan McPherson, producer of LIGHT OF THE WORLD<\/b> and president of The Salvation Poem Project. \u201cWe felt that it was a calling on our lives to make it happen. We\u2019re grateful that God\u2019s blessed it and has made it happen.\u201d<\/p>\n

This beautifully animated story of Jesus is told through the eyes of his young friend, the Apostle John. From the beginning of Jesus\u2019 ministry through his crucifixion and resurrection, LIGHT OF THE WORLD<\/b> powerfully illustrates how Jesus of Nazareth changed the world forever \u2026 and still changes lives today!<\/p>\n

\u201cFor us, this is the most personal story we could possibly tell,\u201d Brennan says. \u201cJesus completely changed our lives, and we wanted to show how he could take a broken person like me, a broken person like John, and completely transform him.\u201d<\/p>\n

LIGHT OF THE WORLD<\/b> is a movie unlike any you\u2019ve seen in a long time. Ideal for families to experience together, the film is designed to help you and your ministry do what you do best\u2014share the love of Jesus with children and families.<\/p>\n

\u201cJohn 3:16 is at the heart of this movie because it\u2019s all about God\u2019s sacrifice on our behalf,\u201d Brennan says. \u201cThe heart of LIGHT OF THE WORLD<\/b> is the heart of God\u2014his offer to save us from our own darkness. That\u2019s why we called it LIGHT OF THE WORLD<\/b>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Theologically sound and beautifully animated, LIGHT OF THE WORLD<\/b> provides an amazing opportunity for your ministry and your families to invite others to experience the love of Jesus when it opens in theaters everywhere on September 5.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe really wanted to remain focused on the basic fundamentals of the gospel: Jesus and him crucified and resurrected for the forgiveness of our sins and the new life that he offers through his Spirit,\u201d Brennan says. \u201cAnd we wanted to make a film that was timeless. We wanted to make a film that was a human expression of beauty.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe wanted all the little imperfections of the hand-drawn, 2D-animation in there because we know we\u2019re flawed. It felt fitting to us that the way we honor the only perfect person in the world is by doing this flawed artwork. And what makes it beautiful is that God accepts that as an offering, just like he accepts us.\u201d<\/p>\n

In addition to the movie, The Salvation Poem Project has created free resources for your church<\/a>\u2014and churches around the world. This includes a six-week children\u2019s ministry curriculum featuring clips from the movie that help kids understand who Jesus is and how he lifts them up from where they are. Written by children\u2019s ministry directors, each lesson also includes a fun family devotional that you can send home with the kids to serve families during the week.<\/p>\n
