Orange Kids Curriculum includes preschool, elementary, and preteen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-is-a-scope-amp-cycle\">What is a Scope &amp; Cycle?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We use the words <a href=\"https:\/\/thinkorange.com\/plan\/\">Scope &amp; Cycle<\/a> to describe the roadmap we have for our curriculum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Our scope is the comprehensive plan that prioritizes <i>what<\/i> you teach and <i>when<\/i><\/strong>. It basically tells you what we\u2019re teaching now with our curriculum and what we\u2019re planning to teach in the future. It\u2019s the big-picture curriculum plan for Orange Kids.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Our cycle <\/strong><strong>is the plan to recycle or revisit what you teach.<\/strong> It\u2019s how we circle back to reinforce the topics we\u2019ve covered to make sure what we\u2019re teaching sticks effectively. It\u2019s the way we think about what\u2019s ahead for Orange Kids.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <b>cycle<\/b> is really important because you can\u2019t make kids show up more consistently. You can\u2019t guarantee that they\u2019ll be with you each and every week. And you also can\u2019t make more hours in the week for yourself. You can\u2019t build in more time to reinforce what you\u2019re teaching to each and every student who may or may not be with you. But you <i>can<\/i> make the time you have matter more by recycling and reinforcing the things that matter most during the middle and high school phase. That\u2019s exactly what your Cycle does!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So if your <b>scope<\/b> prioritizes what you will teach and your <b>cycle<\/b> strategically reinforces those principles again and again in new ways, then developing a <a href=\"https:\/\/thinkorange.com\/plan\/\">Scope &amp; Cycle<\/a> is a balancing act of both strategy and structure and flexibility and freedom. And because we believe that both are so vital to the content in your children&#8217;s ministry, we want to give you a little glimpse into exactly <i>how<\/i> we came up with our Scope &amp; Cycle, <i>why <\/i>we do it the way we do it, and <i>what <\/i>we\u2019re planning to cover in our curriculum Scope &amp; Cycle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-teaching-plan-overview\">Teaching Plan Overview<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>First Look is the preschool curriculum, and 252 Kids is the Elementary and Preteen curriculum. These two groups work a bit differently in their scope and cycle. To start, <a href=\"https:\/\/thinkorange.com\/first-look-preschool-ministry-curriculum\/\">First Look Preschool Curriculum<\/a> works on a 2-year Scope and Cycle, and <a href=\"https:\/\/thinkorange.com\/252-kids-ministry-curriculum\/\">252 Kids and Preteen Curriculum<\/a> switches things up every three years. However, both offer the same great information in Focused Yearly Scopes to help you plan for the year ahead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">The Scope and Cycle illustrates the 9 Core Insights that connect the four curriculum age groups together.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\"><strong>First Look:<\/strong> based on what Jesus says in the Greatest Commandment of Love God (Wonder), Love Others (Discovery), and Love Life (Passion).<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\"><strong>252 Kids:<\/strong> based on what Jesus says in the Greatest Commandment of Love God (Wonder), Love Others (Discovery), and Love Life (Passion).<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">You\u2019ll discover a detailed look at what your kids will experience throughout each month. Within the plan you will see each of the monthly series titles for the coming year, along with theme art to jump-start your thinking on how to make the most of the various themes in your environment. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">Each month is outlined with the Bible Stories, Memory Verses, Bottom Lines or Key Questions, and Virtues that will be taught.
